Accessibility
Built to be used.
A record store you can actually get into, whatever you’re browsing with.
Our commitment
LoudQuietLoud aims to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That’s a target we hold ourselves to, not a certification — see “Known limitations” below for where we still fall short.
What we do
- Semantic HTML and landmarks, plus a “Skip to content” link at the top of every page for keyboard and screen-reader users who don’t want to tab through the header first.
- Full keyboard operability. Search, product cards, the flag control, and store listings all work without a mouse.
- Visible focus states on every interactive element, not just the browser default.
- Text alternatives for album art and product imagery — decorative art is hidden from assistive tech, meaningful images get real descriptions.
- Color contrast checked against our dark theme, which is the default (and only) look of the site.
Known limitations
Being honest about where this stands today:
- Product titles and images come from merchant catalogs we don’t control, so some image descriptions inherit whatever quality the merchant provided.
- Buy links lead to external merchant sites — their accessibility is theirs to answer for, not ours.
- Some album-art-heavy pages (label rosters, vibe pages) are visually dense, which can be a lot for low-vision or cognitive-load-sensitive users even with alt text in place.
